The controller for data processing on this site is SkalaDesign UG (haftungsbeschränkt), address as above.
This site is hosted by Bluehost, operated by Newfold Digital, Inc., based in the United States. Personal data may therefore be processed outside the EEA; Newfold Digital covers this transfer under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which it applies to all Bluehost customers as a matter of policy (see Newfold's GDPR addendum). Server log files (IP address, browser type, date and time of access, referring page) are processed automatically to operate and secure the site, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Typefaces used on this site are hosted on our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, and no data is transmitted to a third party for this purpose.
This site does not set cookies. We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics service, to see aggregate visit counts and popular pages. GoatCounter does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not collect personal data — IP addresses are not stored. Data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding site usage). See GoatCounter's privacy policy for details.
If you use the contact form, the data you provide (name, organisation, email, message) is used solely to respond to your enquiry, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). The form is handled by a script running on our own server — no third-party form service is involved, and no cookies are set. Data is deleted once the enquiry has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Berlin, the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
